Let's Get Together

As time is flying by all around me, I finally made some time to sit and put together a schedule of Chat & Scraps, Workshops and other fun.  All of these can be found on the 'My Calendar' tab above. 

Here are the highlights....

Ariana Workshop - Sunday, March 9 @ 1 pm

 

We will be making two 2 page layouts, 3 cards and a surprise gift item, all using the Ariana paper pack.  For the workshop you will receive:
Ariana Level 2 Paper Pack
Ariana Embellishment Asst, #Z3002
Black and Grey Epoxy Bubbles, #Z1935
Misc Cardstock and Embellishments as needed
And of course, lots of creative ideas.

The cost of the Basic Workshop is $25.

OR, SUPERSIZE it and order the full kit that includes all of the above PLUS a Ariana Workshop Stamp Set PLUS a full color instructional brochure.
The SUPERSIZE price is $35 (including shipping and tax)

RSVP no later than Monday, March 9 to make sure I have enough supplies.   Please bring your paper trimmer and your favorite adhesive.

Washi, Washi - Monday, March 3 @ 7 pm
Don't worry...it doesn't mean we are doing laundry!  lol

Washi Tape is all the rage.  It is certainly growing on me.  In this workshop we will be making 10 festive cards featuring Washi Tape.

Please bring scissors and your favorite adhesive.  Cost is $10.

Operation Write Home Marathon Day - Saturday, March 22 @ 9 am
Operation Write Home is a group that supplies hand-crafted cards to deployed heroes to write home on.  These cards have all been supplied by folks like you and me.

Come join my today and make some cards for our soldiers.  Don't worry if you are not a card maker, we will show you how.  All supplies will be provided, but if you have something specific in mind please feel free to bring your own supplies.  If you have adhesive and a paper trimmer you could bring that would be great too.  If not, I will have some extras.

This quarter we will be making cards for Mother's Day and Father's Day, in addition to the basics (Thinking of you, Birthday, Love, Thank You, Missing You and Blank).

Come for the whole day or just a part....but please RSVP to me ( 408-460-9678 or susieque@sbcglobal.net) so I can make sure to have enough workstations and supplies for all.
Light Refreshments and Door Prizes will be provided.

Chat & Scraps -
Do you need some inspiration to get restarted (or even started) on your latest scrapbook project?  Or a place to go and work without family interruptions?  Or just want to get out for the evening?   Then you need to come over for a Chat & Scrap!

What is a Chat & Scrap?  Bring your project over to the 'Glitter Queen's Studio' and work without any of the  interruptions that you get at home.  You will have access to all of my tools, stamps, inks, punches and even my Cricut and the Close To My Heart Artbooking, Art Philosophy and Artiste Cartridges.

Embossing is Boss...and FREE!

Another great new (to CTMH) product in the Idea Book is embossing folders.  We all use them, admit it!  It is a great way to add dimension to our projects.  Just adding a bit of texture can really make a difference.  And now we have them for you.  Our folders are 5X7...great for your larger cards.  Here is a video from Close To My Heart with some great tips on how to use our embossing folders...

Just a little preview

Wow, it has been a while since I have posted....I hope you all had a great Christmas Season.  We really did.

January.  New year.  With this comes a preview of a new Idea Book.  And even though the book doesn't go live until February 1, I just had to share one of the new and exciting things to come.  I know that many of you are doing the Project Life books.  I've seen your Facebook and Blog posts about them.  I must admit I have only glanced at this scrapbooking option - I am already on project overload.  But guess what.....CTMH is coming out with their version.  I am taking this as a sign that I need to check it out more seriously.

I am eagerly awaiting my shipment of new products so I can get my hands on this new line.  The new Idea Book has 8 sets that include the cards & cover sheets and a set of Memory Protectors with different layout designs.  Once again, the CTMH Team has listened to the trends and brought us their version.  Yeah CTMH!

But this is only one of the new things coming.  I can't wait to share it all with you on February 1st!  Stay tuned!

Christmas Card Making Time...with pictures!

As earlier promised, here are the pictures of the cards we will be making in my Christmas Card Workshop on Saturday, November 23 or Thursday, December 5.

We will be making 49 cards in all, 33 regular sized cards and 16 3X3 gift cards.  My workshop is based on the Frosted Workshop on the Go, but of coarse I notched it up (thanks to the inspiration from a fellow CTMH consultant who shared her version) to make more cards.  I have also added some cardstock and bling to the basic WOTG Kit.

I am offering this workshop on Saturday, November 23 at 1:00 and then again on Thursday, December 5 at 6:30 pm.  And here is an added bonus...since we will be making SO many cards and I don't want to stress you out, I will do your cutting for you ahead of time...after all, I want my workshops to be fun.

The cost of this workshop is $35.  That is lees than $1 per card AND you get to keep the stamp set!  I will need your RSVP a week before the date that yo want to take the workshop (November 16 for the 23rd and November 27th for the 5th.)

If these dates absolutely don't work for you let me know and we can make arrangements...

November Stamp of the Month

This month's Stamp of the Month is called 'Illuminate'...

This month we paired this stamp set with the Huntington paper pack.  I think the rich, elegant colors of this paper pack paired nicely with this stamp set.  Here is the creative art work my Consultant Sisters came up with...

Christmas Card Making Time

With Christmas fast approaching I thought it was about time to organize a Christmas Card Workshop.  What a concept, right?  Anyway....

CTMH has designed a great workshop using our elegant Frosted papers.

 

The kit includes the papers, card bases & envelopes, sparkles, bakers twine, a stamp set and Instruction sheet and is designed to make 15 cards.  Very nice.  But....it wouldn't be a Glitter Queen Workshop if I didn't change it up....

I ramping up this workshop to make 33 regular sized cards AND 16 3X3 gift cards.  Yes, 49 cards in all.  I have to thank a fellow consultant who shared her version of this for the inspiration. 

 I will be adding 3 sheets of cardstock to the basic kit plus the extra card bases and some extra bling (cuz you can never have too much bling!)  We will be making a variety of card designs, including those pictured above.  I am still working on my samples and I will post the final samples as soon as I finish.
