Fall and Christmas Workshops at the Studio

I know that it has been a while since I have posted....I just don't know where the time has gone!  November 3rd already?!  I wanted to let you know about some fun I have planned at the Glitter Queen's Studio.  I can't believe I am talking Christmas....but I wanted to get the schedule out there before your calendars fill up.  I know mine is already looking crazy.  So here goes:

• Thanksgiving Fun - Saturday, November 21  1 pm
• We will be making all you need for your Fall Decor - a fun centerpiece made with Mason Jars and candles, some fun treat holders for giving or decorating your Thanksgiving Dinner Table and even a card or two.  Kindly bring your basic tools like a paper trimmer, scissors and adhesive if you have it.  Workshop Cost is $20
• Christmas Card Buffet - Saturday, November 14  10 am to 4 pm
• What is a Card Buffet you ask?  Well, as the name suggests, you get to pick what you want to make.  I will have a display of 10 cards for you to choose from.  There will be packets for each card with everything already cut for you, just stamp and assemble.  You can make 1 card or 10, depending on how much time you have.  The workshop is designed to be Open House style and self paced, come when you can and stay as long as you like from 10 am to 4 pm.  Of course I will be there to help you along the way.  The cost is $2.00 per card.  Kindly bring your basic tools like a paper trimmer, scissors and adhesive if you have it. 
• * * * Bonus Offer - If you find a card or two that you want to make multiples of to send to family and friends there will be the option of ordering kits of your favorite card - each kit costs $15 for 10 cards.
• Christmas Gift Tags & Gift Bags Buffet - Tuesday November 17 6 pm to 10 pm
• Patterned after the Christmas Card Buffet, you will be able to customize your workshop by choosing the gift tags and small gift bags that you want to make.  You can make 1 tag/bag or 10, depending on how much time you have. The workshop is designed to be Open House style and self paced, come when you can and stay as long as you like from 6 pm to 10 pm.  Of course I will be there to help you along the way.  The cost is $1.00 per tag/bag.  Kindly bring your basic tools like a paper trimmer, scissors and adhesive if you have it. 
• * * * Bonus Offer - If you find a tag or bag that you want to make multiples of for your gift giving,  there will be the option of ordering kits of your favorite tags or bags- each kit costs $10 for 15 tags/bags.
• Christmas Favors and Gift Card Holders - Monday, November 30 6:30 pm
• Spend a fun evening in the Glitter Queen Studio creating fun Christmas themed treats and gift card holders.  We will be making 4 treats and 4 gift card holders.  The cost of the workshop is $15.  Kindly bring your basic tools like a paper trimmer, scissors and adhesive if you have it.

Wow, that was a mouthful!  Soooo many ideas, so little time!  In addition to these Holiday Themed workshop I still have the basics....

• Tuesday Night Card Making - Tuesday, November 10 and December 15 @ 7 pm.
• The idea of the workshop is to have a casual gathering to create some cards, make new friends and spend a relaxing evening at the Glitter Queen's Studio. The cards will be designed for all levels of card making experience from beginner to expert.  Each month we will make 4 different cards. I will be holding these card making sessions on the second Tuesday of each month at 7 pm and the cost is only $5.  Kindly bring your basic tools like a paper trimmer, scissors and adhesive if you have it.
• Friday Night Chat & Scrap - December 4 & 18 6 pm to ......
• What is a Chat & Scrap?  Bring your project over to the 'Glitter Queen's Studio' and work without any of the  interruptions that you get at home.  You will have access to all of my tools, stamps, inks, punches and even my Cricut and the Close To My Heart Artbooking, Art Philosophy, Artiste, Artfully Sent and the NEW Artistry Cartridges.  I have also have tons of dies and embossing folders.
  The evening includes dinner and snacks.  And there will even be a simple Make & Take project.  All for $10.  This would also be an opportunity to complete any kits that your pro-ordered from one of my buffets above.
• Sunday Afternoon Chat & Scrap - December 13 11 am to .....
• All of the details from the Friday Night Chat & Scrap apply - except it includes lunch instead of dinner

Card Workshop - Send Someone a Smile

The second Tuesday of the month means it is time to get together to make some cards.  In this self-paced workshop you will be making four cards, all designed to Send Some One A Smile.  The idea of the workshop is to have a casual gathering to create some cards, make new friends and spend a relaxing evening the Glitter Queen's Studio.  The cards will be designed for all levels of card making experience from beginner to expert.

I hold these card making sessions on the second Tuesday of each month at 7 pm and the cost is only $5.  Our next gathering will be on September 9.

Do you need some inspiration to get restarted (or even started) on your latest scrapbook project?  Or a place to go and work without family interruptions?  Or just want to get out for the evening?   Then you need to come over for a Chat & Scrap!

What is a Chat & Scrap?  Bring your project over to the 'Glitter Queen's Studio' and work without any of the  interruptions that you get at home.  You will have access to all of my tools, stamps, inks, punches and even my Cricut and the Close To My Heart Artbooking, Art Philosophy and Artiste Cartridges.  Very soon we will have a new cartridge, Artfully Sent, to play with too.

Let's Get Together

As time is flying by all around me, I finally made some time to sit and put together a schedule of Chat & Scraps, Workshops and other fun.  All of these can be found on the 'My Calendar' tab above.

Ariana Workshop - Sunday, March 9 @ 1 pm

 

We will be making two 2 page layouts, 3 cards and a surprise gift item, all using the Ariana paper pack.  For the workshop you will receive:
Ariana Level 2 Paper Pack
Ariana Embellishment Asst, #Z3002
Black and Grey Epoxy Bubbles, #Z1935
Misc Cardstock and Embellishments as needed
And of course, lots of creative ideas.

The cost of the Basic Workshop is $25.

Washi, Washi - Monday, March 3 @ 7 pm
Don't worry...it doesn't mean we are doing laundry!  lol

Washi Tape is all the rage.  It is certainly growing on me.  In this workshop we will be making 10 festive cards featuring Washi Tape.

Please bring scissors and your favorite adhesive.  Cost is $10.

Operation Write Home Marathon Day - Saturday, March 22 @ 9 am
Operation Write Home is a group that supplies hand-crafted cards to deployed heroes to write home on.  These cards have all been supplied by folks like you and me.

Come join my today and make some cards for our soldiers.  Don't worry if you are not a card maker, we will show you how.  All supplies will be provided, but if you have something specific in mind please feel free to bring your own supplies.  If you have adhesive and a paper trimmer you could bring that would be great too.  If not, I will have some extras.

This quarter we will be making cards for Mother's Day and Father's Day, in addition to the basics (Thinking of you, Birthday, Love, Thank You, Missing You and Blank).

Come for the whole day or just a part....but please RSVP to me ( 408-460-9678 or susieque@sbcglobal.net) so I can make sure to have enough workstations and supplies for all.

Send Some One A Smile

I was messaging my friend Karen the other day when I realized that in this age of digital communication the idea of sending some one an actual card just because is almost completely gone.  I know I am guilty of it.  We text, we message, we email, we tweet....and it is good to 'hear' from our friends and relatives, but when you really think about it, you just don't get that warm, fuzzy feeling from these methods of communication.

What's my point?  I have decided to randomly reach out to a couple of friends and relatives each month and send them a card just to let them know I am thinking of them.  With that in mind I thought it would be fun to challenge others to 'Send Some One a Smile'.

I will be hosting a monthly card making workshop so you can accept the challenge.  In this self-paced workshop you will be making four cards, all designed to Send Some One A Smile.  The idea of the workshop is to have a casual gathering to create some cards, make new friends and spend a relaxing evening the Glitter Queen's Studio.  The cards will be designed for all levels of card making experience from beginner to expert.
